Cody Vavrik is nothing if not the guiding light of self-acceptance and freedom. His cheeky attitude meets determination and perseverance to create a musical world for the lonely and misunderstood to feel like they belong.
Vavrik takes inspiration from the world around him. From the personal styles of Lenny Kravitz and Dennis Rodman to Van Gogh and Marylin Mason; to the simpler things, like the smell and look of a post rain fog or skinny dipping with friends, he finds a way to bring that into his expression. He believes in the idea that you don't have to take yourself too seriously, yet when pushed to a certain limit one allows themselves to cut their own ear off to prove a point.
If it comes from a good heart, it’s worth sharing. This is what Cody is all about. He expresses this through his music, lyrics and visuals he creates. The Northside EP is a bold first step into the pop limelight for a new artist with an old soul. It’s a confrontational record about not giving into the gravity of conformity.
